10th Annual Spring Wood Art Exhibit June 20-22, 2008: 36th Owa-Chito (Festival of the Forest) Held at Beavers Bend State Park, Kiamichi Owa-Chito was formed to stage an annual festival of the forest in an effort to acquaint the people of Oklahoma, surrounding states and the world with the beauty, heritage, industry and progress that are Kiamichi Country. Kiamichi Owa-Chito is a "coming together" of the people, ethnic groups, industries, organizations, businessmen and specialist of McCurtain County... an invitation to everyone, everywhere to "come and see what we've got." July 4-6, 2008: Fourth of July Celebrations Celebrations abound throughout the area. Fireworks Display behind Frontier General Store off 259. August 29-September 1, 2008: Labor Day Saturday August 30: Hochatown Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry. Fish, Potato Salad, Beans, Hushpuppies, Desert & Drink. Held at Fire Station on 259N. September 14-October 19, 2008: "Masters at Work" Exhibit Located at Beavers Bend State Park. Last of October: Fall Foliage During the last weeks of October and throughout November, enjoy the many colors of the fall foliage around the area.
